Trees sometimes have defects which compromise their structural integrity. When this occurs, the safety of people or property, or even preservation of the tree itself can be at risk. Tree support systems are used to provide supplemental support to leaders, individual branches and/or entire trees. Cables, braces, and guys provide supplemental support by limiting the movement of the tree or tree part(s).
Installing mechanical support systems, such as the cabling system shown here can help restore structural integrity or mitigate a hazard, and sometimes prevent the complete removal of a tree.
These support systems need to be installed by a qualified arborist and must meet a very strict set of ANSI Standards to be sure the proper sizes and types of materials are being used.
